Enjoying a Cost-Effective Workout
Staying in shape and enjoying a daily workout doesn’t have to throw off your finances!
You can get fit while practicing financial fitness, too. Take a look at today’s blog for a few of our best ways to save along the way.
Get smart about gym membership
Gyms aren’t the only way to stay in shape. But if you do decide to join one, take your time and find one that offers the best deals and, of course, meets your needs (proximity to work or home, classes offered, etc.).
If you don’t have a bank and debit card, you may be wondering how to sign up for a gym, especially since most will bill you on such a card per month. A prepaid debit card might be able to help! You can use it to pay gym costs with money you already have on hand, just in a simpler, cash-free form.
Workout at home…
Of course, like we said, a gym isn’t necessary for everyone! You can enjoy an at-home workout using the power of the web, with videos and workout guides that come free of charge. It’s a great place to start, one that can help you stay in shape from the comfort of your own living room (no gym costs, transportation, etc. necessary!).
…and in the great outdoors
Looking for a change of scenery? Head to the great outdoors! Here in Florida, there is no shortage of great places to get in a workout: state parks for a great hike, for example, or your nearest beach for resistance running in the sand and cardio in the form of swimming. You can even bring Fido along for the fun.
Buy a reusable water bottle
While it may seem like a simple tip, the one-time purchase of a reusable water bottle can save you lots over the course of a year. It lets you fill up wherever you are, so that you don’t need to spend one or two dollars on a bottle of water at the gym or convenience store. Plus, it’s good for the environment!
Find a friend
Above all, find a way to get accountable. Even if you don’t go to the gym, you can still enjoy the motivational power of someone who’s counting on you for a weekly workout. Call a friend or family member who is also interested in getting fit, and see if they’d like to accompany you on hikes, jogs, trips to the tennis court… whatever it may be.
We hope that these tips help you get fit without giving your wallet a workout, too! If we can help you along the way with prepaid debit cards and other services, be sure to call Check on Hold! We’re happy to help.
